After rehabilitation and physiotherapist roles at Grimsby Town FC and Doncaster Rovers FC, Leeds United First Team Physiotherapist, Daryl Carter, has been with the club for eight years, six of which have been with the first team.
“I’ve been working with the first team for the last six years and for the last three seasons we’ve used KangaTech to improve the objective data we’re collecting and to provide reliable data to the strength testing we’re doing in the gym,” Carter said.
Over the last three years, which have been spent across the Premier League and the EFL Championship, Leeds United uses KT360 weekly to provide baselines for return-to-training markers throughout the season.
“We use KangaTech for both strength testing and as a training device. With training, we manipulate the time and the tension at different intensities so that we get the demand from the session that we’re after,” Carter said.
“We also use KangaTech during pre-season screening where we have a look at hip screenings to get a profile of the players, and also generate baselines we use for return-to-training markers throughout the season.”
When generating baselines for elite athletes and quantifying strength and muscular tension at a precise level, reliability and validity are extremely important attributes of any technology used at the club.
“We use KangaTech on a weekly basis as part of our fatigue testing and readiness to train monitoring. Throughout the season, we’ve found our testing on KangaTech to be repeatable and valid."
“KangaTech is something I would highly recommend to practitioners out there. It has been invaluable to us over the last three years.”
