Introducing James Evans - Customer Success Manager - UK/Europe
Tell us a little bit about yourself (personal/professional)
My background is in professional football. After a year placement during my Sports Therapy degree from the University of Hertfordshire I spent the next 9 years working as a First Team Therapist for Derby County FC before becoming the Lead Rehabilitation Therapist in 2019. I joined KangaTech in April 2022 and have since had the pleasure of working with and supporting some of the top sporting organisations and clinics across the UK and Europe alongside an excellent team of forward thinking professionals.
My young family consists of my wife, my 1 year old daughter and my 3 year old Labrador. Living on the edge of the peak district in Derbyshire we spend a lot of time outside walking with the dog and sampling the numerous local pubs. I still keep my eye out for Derby County’s results along with the rest of English football. When I’m not watching football I try and keep up to date with American sports being a big fan of the NBA.
What motivates you?
I’ve always been motivated by problem solving and hard work. This is something that originated from working in football with players in rehabilitation and is now applied within my current role. I take great satisfaction from supporting practitioners using the KT360 in rehab and performance and hearing the success stories they’ve have from using the system.
What does a day in the life look like for you? (professionally)
My days can look very different. When working from home I support customers across the UK / Europe and North America remotely, I assist in the curation of normative data sets and new protocols to add the existing list on the KT software, I keep up to date on current research articles applicable to our users in professional sport. When I am on the road visiting customers I run CPD sessions and new user onboarding, I occasionally assist with team’s screening sessions.
What drew you to working with KangaTech?
I began using KangaTech before it became the KT360, even in those early stages I saw the practical benefits of screening/monitoring and training athletes using isometrics. When the new system came along it was clear that KangaTech had a bright future ahead. Joining KangaTech was an easy decision, the role combined my practical experience working with the athletes the KangaTech customer base services while offering the opportunity of new experiences working with different sporting codes.
What do you think is the number one reason customers choose KangaTech KT360?
I believe customers chose to test and train their athletes on the KT360 based on its levels of accuracy and reliability which are key in elite sport. Coupled with the software’s ease of use and the durable design the KT360 stands out as the premier fixed frame dynamometry system on the market.
Which resources do you use to keep up with industry news?
I find LinkedIn and Instagram both very useful tools when used well. It can be a good way to track the current trends in research across professional sport whilst following the latest news that doesn’t always make it to main stream media.
What are you most looking forward to in the next 12 months?
Professionally I am looking forward to working with our customer base to create new protocols which will help all users monitor and develop their athletes in new innovative ways. I’m excited to see the developments we have in the pipeline, both in terms software and hardware changes, come to fruition and how that will affect our customers experience.
On a personal note, I’m looking forward to watching my daughter develop which hopefully coincides with our first family holiday! I also plan to get back into some sport which was lost in the madness of the football industry.
